Before Southeastern Gastroenterology opened its doors in 2022, there was a noticeable shortage of gastroenterology care in Columbus, GA, and the surrounding areas. With fewer gastroenterologists available, there were excessively long wait times for in-office care and hospital procedures. Patients could not easily receive diagnostic services, treat gastrointestinal issues, or manage conditions effectively.
As a response to this reality, Dr. Shane Darrah, founder of Southeastern Cardiology, founded Southeastern Gastroenterology. He worked to assemble a team of exceptional gastroenterologists who were and still are supported by a dedicated group of healthcare professionals in the Columbus area. Since day one, our practice has remained dedicated to reducing wait times between patient referral and appointment, addressing the unique needs of every patient, and delivering the best care possible.
Southeastern Gastroenterology has grown rapidly since it first opened due to the high demand in our area for gastrointestinal solutions and top-tier care. As a result, we established our Endoscopy facility for even faster and more efficient care. Plus, we continue to expand our team of highly skilled providers, including physicians and advanced practitioners. It’s always our goal to connect patients with the best gastroenterologists in West Central Georgia and East Central Alabama.
